• Does the filter have additional functions such as deodorization?

  Filter screens can have additional functions such as deodorization in some cases.

  1、Deodorizing function

  Activated carbon filter screen

  Activated carbon has a highly developed pore structure,which can adsorb odor molecules in the air.For example,adding activated carbon components to the filter of an air purifier can adsorb harmful volatile organic compounds(VOCs)such as formaldehyde and benzene,as well as odors from daily life such as kitchen fumes and pet odors,through the pores of activated carbon when air passes through.The adsorption principle is physical adsorption,where odor molecules accumulate in the pores on the surface of activated carbon,thereby achieving the effect of purifying the air and deodorizing.

  In some large-scale ventilation and filtration systems used in industry,activated carbon filters are also used to remove odors generated during the production process.For example,in the ventilation equipment of sewage treatment plants,the use of activated carbon filters can effectively reduce the odor emitted by sewage.

  

  Photocatalyst filter screen

  The photocatalyst filter can generate strong oxidative free radicals under light conditions.These free radicals can decompose odorous substances in the air,such as ammonia,hydrogen sulfide,etc.Taking the home environment as an example,when there is sunlight or lighting indoors,the photocatalyst filter can decompose odors in the air into harmless substances such as carbon dioxide and water,thereby achieving the function of deodorization.
